Mother Of Missing Evansdale Girl To Appear in Federal Court

Misty Morrissey, mother of Lyric Cook-Morrissey, who disappeared July 13 is expected to appear in court Wednesday on a meth charge.

Misty Morrissey, the mother of one of the Evansdale cousins who never returned after taking a bike ride July 13, is expected to appear in federal court for allegedly failing the terms of her supervised release in a methamphetamine case.

Morrissey is supposed to appear in court in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday, KCCI reports.

Morrisey's daughter Lyric Cook-Morrissey, 11, and her cousin, Elizabeth Collins, 9, went missing July 13. Police announced they considered their disappearance an abduction about a week after the girls went missing, because their bodies were not found in Meyers Lake near where they were last seen.
