One in Critical Condition After Car Accident Involving Cedar Falls Iowa State Patrol Officer
The accident happened near Waverly on Wednesday.

Three people, including Cedar Falls Iowa Patrol officer Chuck McNally, were injured in a Thursday accident near Waverly.
According to an Iowa State Patrol accident report, McNally and Eugene Walther, of Waverly, were transported by ambulance to Waverly Municipal Hospital. Passenger Verjean Walther, of Waverly, was flown by helicopter Air Care ambulance to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
McNally and Eugene Walther were treated and released, Iowa State Patrol Sgt. Brian Beenen said Thursday. Verjean Walther is in critical condition.

The accident report said McNally, driving a Ford Crown Victoria, was eastbound on County Road C-33. Eugene Walther, driving a 1998 Toyota Camry, was westbound on that road. Turning south onto County Road V-14, the vehicles collided and ended up on the southeast corner of the intersection.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.

The report said all three were wearing seatbelts.
