Over $200K Worth of Hay Burns in Black Hawk County Fire
Dike, New Hartford and Stout firefighters joined the Cedar Falls Fire Department in fighting the flames.

Cedar Falls Fire Rescue battled an early morning hay fire today in rural Black Hawk County.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reported the fire, in an open-faced hay barn at 9007 W. 12th Street, was called in shortly before 5 a.m. Dike, New Hartford and Stout firefighters joined the Cedar Falls Fire Department in fighting the flames.
No one was injured. Cedar Falls Fire Chief John Schilling estimated the hay was valued at between $200,000 and $250,000.Â
