Northern Iowa man who fled from police on multiple occasions awaits trial this month (northiowatoday.com) — Cedar Falls officers say a 28-year-old Dunkerton man led them on a June vehicle pursuit from the University Avenue Goodwill that ended when his car hit a tree near 7th and State streets. He faces multiple charges from Cedar Falls Police and remains in Black Hawk County Jail awaiting a December 30 jury trial in Cedar Falls. 
2. UNI introduces new student tradition with Sesquicentennial Bell (cbs2iowa.com) — UNI students in Cedar Falls will soon have a new tradition built around the Sesquicentennial Bell on Campanile Plaza, with its clapper reinstalled for finals week December 15–20. Students can ring the bell to celebrate finishing exams, mark graduation, and later ‘ring in’ the start of each semester beginning Spring 2026.
3. Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive through the years (wcfcourier.com) — Cedar Falls residents helped boost this year’s Salvation Army Mayoral Battle of the Bells, where Mayor Rob Green rang at Hy-Vee to raise funds for the Waterloo/Cedar Falls chapter. The friendly competition among area mayors brought in $6,698, plus several anonymously donated gold coins that will be auctioned later in December to further support local services.
4. PHOTOS: WSR Go-Hawk Girls' Wrestling Invitational (wcfcourier.com) — Cedar Falls girls’ wrestlers, including state champion Lauren Whitt, turned heads at the WSR Go-Hawk Invitational in nearby Waverly, with several Tigers featured in key matches. A photo gallery highlights Cedar Falls athletes battling opponents from Waverly-Shell Rock, Columbus Catholic, and Hampton-Dumont-CAL across multiple weight classes.
5. Kadens Kloset provides tangible needs to foster kids (nwestiowa.com) — Cedar Falls families should know Kadens Kloset operates a local site helping foster and adoptive kids with clothing, toiletries, and “first night” bags.
