Education Reform:

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reported state officials plans to finance a teacher pay system that would be part of Governor Terry Branstad's education reform package. A draft version of the reform in Cedar Falls when Branstad presented it at a town-hall style meeting in November.

The UNI men's basketball team will square off against the University of Iowa team tonight at 7 p.m. at the McLeod Center. There's nothing like a little college town rivalry to keep the week interesting. Panthers are higher on the food chain than hawks, right?

Santa is Going to the Dogs:

It's Pet Photo Night with Santa at from 6-8 pm. Your dog or kitty friend can sit on Santa's lap and meow or bark Christmas wishes into the man in red's ear. Seriously. Leave your kids at home and just bring Fido. Santa will also pose with pets Dec. 13.

Holiday Music:

'Tis the season of Christmas music. If you're looking for a place to hear holiday songs, either and junior highs might be the place for you. These kids have been working hard - why not check out what they have to offer? Holmes will present its eighth and ninth grade winter vocal concert, while Peet's seventh graders will take the stage. Both shows are free and at 7:30 p.m.
