Police: Man Tried to Coax Girl into Car Near Waterloo School

Waterloo police are looking for a man who reportedly tried to coax a girl into his car Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called to Blessed Sacrament School in Waterloo around 1:30 p.m.

Police said the girl was walking home from school down Stephan Street when a man in a SUV pulled up beside her and stopped. He told her to get into the car, but the girl took off running back to the school. The girl was not harmed.

Police are looking for a dark blue SUV with an Iowa State University sticker on the back window, driven by a black male, age 50 to 60 years old, with black hair and black beard and tattoos on his neck.
