Election Day Voter Registration information:
To register on Election Day, you must:
- provide proof of identity (photo ID)
- provide proof of residency (your current address in the precinct)
- sign an oath (attesting that the information you give is true)
Acceptable forms of identification:
- Iowa driver's license
- Iowa non-operator's ID
- United States passport
- United States military ID
- Identification card from an employer
- Iowa student ID
- Out-of-state- driver's license
- Out-of-state non-operator's ID
If the photo ID presented does not contain your current address in the precinct, you are required to present one of the following documents that includes your name and current address in the precinct:
- Residential lease
- Utility bill (including telephone or cell phone)
- Paycheck
- Property tax statement
- Bank statement
- Government issued check
- Other government issued document
Voters with no identification:
Voters with no identification may establish identity and residency in the precinct by written oath of a person who is registered to vote in the precint.
