Price Lab Parents File Appeal With Iowa Supreme Court
The legal fight against Price Lab's closure continues even as its students integrate into new schools.

A new school year is well underway, but a group of parents from shuttered is fighting on.
Attorney Thomas Frerichs, representing 37 Price Lab supporters, has filed an appeal to save the school with the Iowa Supreme Court.
The supporters in Black Hawk County this summer.

They argued was unlawful. The said Price Lab, which was a laboratory for the teacher education program and enrolled about 350 preK-12 students, was also designated as the state's Research and Development school. As such, they argued, it could only be closed by the Iowa legislature.
However, judge Alan Pearson ruled against them, and the school did not reopen this fall.
