The Courier said text messages coming from within the meeting said the school would close July 1, pending approval from the Iowa Board of Regents.

Allen will meet with parents of the school's students at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
UNI spokesman James O'Connor said an official announcement won't be made until tomorrow at 1 p.m. At that time announcements about cuts to non-academic programs, including the University Museum, athletics and print services will also be made.

An announcement on cuts to academic programs will come in the next week or two after the university completes meetings with the faculty senate and the United Faculty union.
O'Connor said the university wants to do its due diligence with all affected parties before making public statements.
Last week, Allen said major budget cuts are on the way for the university, and that was the first time closure of Price Lab was mentioned as a possibility.
Price Lab, which has 366 students enrolled this year, is a clinical teacher education and research school on the UNI campus.
