A laptop was allegedly stolen from the Waterloo office of newly re-elected Iowa Congressman Bruce Braley, and a second laptop was taken from an Obama for America staffer, according to reports by KWWL and KCRG.

They allegedly also stole money, Black Hawk County Democratic Party chair Pat Sass told KWWL and KCRG.

Both stations report that police have made at least one arrest, but do not name the suspect.

The reported thefts happened the morning after Election Day. On Tuesday, Braley held onto his first district congressional seat by defeating Republican challenger Ben Lange by a convincing 57-42 margin.

The intruders posed as a cleaning crew.

"They came in and pretended they were cleaning people and that they were here to clean all the time. Naturally, that wasn't why they were here. We do not have cleaning people," Sass told KWWL.

Waterloo police did not immediately return a call by Patch asking for more information Wednesday afternoon.

KWWL reported the suspects allegedly tried to have the computer's passwords erased at a local computer store, leading to the arrest of at least one man and the recovery of the computers.
