Sheriff's Office: Loud Party Leads to 7 Drug Arrests in Cedar Falls

A loud party led to drug charges for seven Cedar Falls residents Thursday night, authorities said.
The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office said an off-duty deputy was working security at Hillcrest Apartments, 9614 University Ave., on Jan. 3 around 11:45 p.m. He said he heard loud noises coming from an apartment and smelled marijuana when he went to investigate. He called for assistance from other deputies.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for the apartment. Authorities said there were seven people in the apartment, along with suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, suspected psilocybin mushrooms and money. Deputies called in the Tri-County Drug Task Force for assistance.

Residents of the apartment who were arrested were:
Saturno Hechavarria, 24, charged with possession of marijuana.Â

Derrick Joseph Conway, 24, charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of prescription drugs.
Travis Scott Rieck, 22, charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of prescription drugs.Â
Cory Petersen, 23, charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of psilocybin mushrooms.
Other Cedar Falls residents arrested and charged with possession of marijuana were: Jamie Walter Klith, 24, Levin Steven Klein, 18, and Justina Lynn Davis, 21.
