Poll: Should Cedar Falls City Council Limit How Many Pets You Can Have? Final Decision Will Be Monday
The council will consider whether or not to limit the number of animals a home can have without a special license.

Should the Cedar Falls City Council be able to limit the number of cats and dogs residents can have?
That is the issue up for debate, and the council will hand down a decision at Monday's meeting.
They have already approved the measure twice. Three approvals are needed to amend city code.

The proposed ordinance would limit a household to having three cats or dogs without a kennel license. People who own more than three cats or dogs would also have to live in specially zoned areas.
On August 13, the council voted 4-3 to approve the second reading of the ordinance. Council members Nick Taiber, Mare Madsen Schmidt and Frank Darrah voted against the ordinance. Darrah had voted yes on the measure's first reading, but changed his vote after he said he received letters and emails from constituents.
