Sidecar Coffee, Scratch Cupcakery Teaming Up on New College Hill Coffee Shop

Sidecar Coffee Shop hopes to open sometime in October at 2215 College Street.

A new coffee shop is coming to College Hill, and two local favorites are collaborating to make it tasty.

Sidecar Coffee Shop hopes to open sometime in October at 2215 College Street, dependent on how fast construction is finished.

The shop, owned by Andy Fuchtman, will feature locally roasted brew by Sidecar Coffee Roasters. Sidecar Coffee Roaster owner Jed Vander Zanden's coffee roasting location, 109 Washington St., will remain open. The coffee shop will be a venue to serve some of his coffee and will also feature an in-shop roaster.

Brent Dahlstrom and Ryan Kriener of CV Properties bought the long-empty lot on College Hill that used to house live music venue and bar Stebs. The new building that will house Sidecar has been under construction throughout the summer.

In addition to locally roasted coffee, the shop will offer locally baked treats by the ever-popular Scratch Cupcakery.

The combination of those two elements is enough to make this editor eager for opening day. What about you? Tell us how you feel about this new business in the comments.
