Two Busted for Allegedly Buying Beer, Cigarettes With Stolen Checks: Cedar Falls Police Blotter

arrested two men they said bought beer and cigarettes using stolen checks.
Willie Dean Smith, 51, of Cedar Rapids, and Michael Dwayne Stigler Jr., 51, of Waterloo, were arrested just before 4 a.m. March 13 at the corner of University Avenue and Ansborough Avenue. Both were charged with forgery.
Police were called earlier that morning after the men allegedly attempted to pass stolen checks at  and the . Police said the men were stopped in a vehicle containing the checks, stolen from a Waterloo man, and the beer and cigarettes purchased with them.

March 9:
Mark Alan Dunsmoor, 58, male, of 1207 Tomahawk Lane, arrested at 12:11 p.m. at 221 W. Sixth St., charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Kathleen Marie Dunsmoor, 57, female, of 1207 Tomahawk Lane, arrested at 1:03 p.m. at the same location, charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Zachary Ryan Stahl, 20, male, of 723 W. Third St., arrested at 5:16 p.m. at same location, charged with assault domestic simple.
March 10:
Mitchell James Mosley, 18, male, of Waterloo, arrested at 12:59 a.m. at Highway 57 and Roosevelt Street, charged with possession of marijuana.
March 11:
Sam Henry Gerloff, 20, male, of 1227 Catherine St., arrested at 5:19 p.m. at the same location, charged with two counts of driving with license suspended/simple misdemeanor.
March 14:
Damontre Tairice Burt, 20, male, of Waterloo, arrested at the Black Hawk County Jail, charged with child endangerment (serious).
Tanika La Von Barnes, 31, female, of 1813-22 W. Eighth St., arrested at 3:32 p.m. at the same location, charged with driving with license revoked, interference/no injury and two counts of violation of no contact order.
