UNI Back to School Guide: Move-In Dates, Schedules, Deadlines and More
Registration, orientation, adding and dropping classes, food, and all the rest of the joys that are the start of the school year.

The school year is almost here. You're welcome, parents. Sorry, students.
Patch has assembled some of the essential back to school details, via the , to aid in the matriculation process. Take a look below and let us know if we missed anything.
Classes
- Monday, Aug. 20, 8 a.m., classes begin.
Orientations
- Monday, Aug. 13, all-day: International student orientation schedule.
- Tuesday, Aug. 14, all-day: New faculty orientation.
- Friday, Aug. 17, all-day: Freshman orientation. Register here.
- Friday, Aug. 17, all-day: Transfer orientation. Register here.

Registration
- Friday, Aug. 17: Final registration.
- Friday, Aug. 24: University bill is due.
- Tuesday, Aug. 28:
- After 5 p.m., $10 fee, per day for courses added or dropped.
- Last day to add for-credit classes.
- Friday, Aug. 31: Last day to drop a full-semester class without a withdrawal.
Move-In
- Move-in begins at 8 a.m., Friday, Aug. 17.Â
- Don't forget the Emergency Contanct Information Form, which you need to check in.
- If you need help, look for the "move in crew" in yellow and purple lettering T-shirts.
- Finally, for parents and families, when your done, unwind at the a reception on Thursday, Aug. 16 in the East Towers Lounge or Friday, Aug. 17 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Panther Village Lobby.

Food
- Campus dining centers start regular hours on Friday, Aug. 17. Click here for the regular hours and click here for off-season hours prior to Aug. 17.
Welcome week events:
- Panther Picnic: Thursday, Aug. 16 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. outside the McLeod Center Sports Complex. Free burgers, hot dogs, chips, and cookies for the first 1,200 people.
- Chris Jones, Hypnotist: Friday, Aug. 17 at Performing Arts Center.
- Panthers on Main: Saturday, Aug. 18 in Downtown Cedar Falls. Buses will run on a continuous loop between campus and downtown Cedar Falls. Campus pick-up spots are at the Panther Shuttle stop behind Curris Business Building or in front of Bartlett Hall. E
- Panther Dance Party: Saturday, Aug. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at 2012 Maucker Union Ballroom.
- Progressive Picnic: Sunday, Aug. 19 at 4 p.m. at Lawther Field. Live music, free snow cones, and showcasing a dozen+ student groups.
- Campus direction booths will be set up Monday, Aug. 20 and Tuesday, Aug. 21 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Isabel Wilkerson, author of "The Warmth of Other Suns": Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Gallagher-Bluedorn.
- UNI I am Staying Healthy!: Thursday, Aug. 23 at 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside of the Student Health Center. They will have free fruit, water, pens, bookmarks and health and wellness information.
- Transfer Student Welcome: Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Maucker Union Ballroom.
- Rainbow Reception: Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Gallagher-Bluedorn lobby. This is to welcome lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and ally students.
