UNI Museum Closes This Week; Goodbye Open House Planned
The UNI Museum will close it's doors at the end of the month.
The community is invited to visit the one last time before it closes its doors to the public permanently at the end of June.
Â
The Friends of the UNI Museums will host a Community Open House Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the University Museum, 3219 Hudson Road. The event is being held in honor of the University Museum's 120 years on campus. Refreshments will be served.
Â
Attendees will be able to view a special exhibit, "120 Years of Discovery, Learning & Inspiration," that documents the museum's history.
UNI Museums staff have also created a scavenger hunt using quick response (QR) codes. Using a smart phone, visitors can find and scan the QR codes throughout the museum to see additional photos, explore new information, and learn the story of how and from whom the museum received some of the objects in its collection.
The University Museum will be open to the public until June 29. Hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. For more information visit www.uni.edu/museum.
