UNI Presidential Search Finalists to Visit Campus; Public Forum Times, Dates Set

Three finalists for the job of UNI president will visit the University of Northern Iowa campus.

Starting Jan. 28, the public will be able to meet the finalists for the job of University of Northern Iowa president.

Search committee members interviewed nine candidates in Minneapolis last week. Of those nine, three finalists will visit Cedar Falls for further interviews and to meet the public. The finalist's names have not yet been revealed due to confidentiality agreements. Their names, biographies and resumes will be made public closer to their on-campus visits.

The first candidate will be on campus Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 28 and 29. A public forum will be from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Jan. 28, in Maucker Union's Old Central Ballroom.

The second candidate will interview Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 30 and 31. The public forum will be from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Jan. 30, in the UNI Commons, Slife Ballroom.

The third and final candidate’s visit is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 4 and 5. The information about the public forum will be released when the itinerary is finalized.

After the on-campus interviews, the search committee will submit its recommendations to the Board of Regents, which will have the final vote on who will take over the job of running the university.

Current President Ben Allen announced he will retire by July this year.
