UNI Presidential Search Update: 20+ Candidates for Ben Allen's Job

University of Northern Iowa President Ben Allen plans to retire by July, and the hunt to find a replacement is underway.

About twenty candidates so far have submitted materials to be considered for the job of president of the University of Northern Iowa, a search firm representative told the committee charged with replacing current President Ben Allen.

Laurie Wilder, of Parker Executive Search, told the committee on Tuesday the search firm would continue to aggressively recruit candidates this week. She said she planned to submit materials on the candidates - including CVs and resumes, recommendations and questionnaires - to the committee by Friday.

The committee will meet to discuss the candidates Jan. 3 and will likely conduct airport interviews in Minneapolis Jan. 11 and 12.
