UPDATE: Cedar Falls, Waterloo Schools Dismissing Early Friday
With temperatures expected to near 100 degrees Fahrenheit Thursday, some area schools have already decided to dismiss class early.

Update: Cedar Falls Schools will dismiss two hours early on Friday, KCRG is reporting.

St. Patrick's will let out at 1:30 p.m. Friday. There will be no after school activities. Circle of Care will be available until 5:30 p.m.

Update: St. Patrick School and pre-school in Cedar Falls will dismiss at 2 p.m. Thursday, adding to the list of Cedar Valley schools letting out early due to heat.
Circle of Care daycare will be available at the school until 5:30 p.m.

School may be in session and September may be just around the corner, but don't let the pleasant weather fool you.
It is going to get hot, hot, hot again on Thursday.
The National Weather Service predicts a high in Cedar Falls of 98 degree Fahrenheit Thursday and a high of 94 degrees Friday.
As a result of the impending heat, all Waterloo schools and Cedar Valley Catholic Schools will dismiss two hours early Thursday and Friday.
Columbus High School will let out at noon both days.
In Waterloo, FLASH and Middle School activities are canceled for Thursday and Friday. High school activities will have a modified schedule. For Cedar Valley Catholic, middle school activities are cancelled both days.
No word yet if Cedar Falls will follow suite. We'll keep you updated.
