What Big Change is Coming to Sturgis Falls This Year in Cedar Falls?
Mud and flooding have been big problems for one part of the yearly festival, and organizers are hoping to change that.

Forget the mud and flooding - Sturgis Falls organizers are abandoning Tourist Park this year in favor of Gateway Park.
Tourist Park is notorious for flooding and, when not actually being underwater, being very muddy.
On the Sturgis Falls Facebook page, organizers said the move will also offer more space for additional food vendors, more venues and parking.

KWWL reported parking will be available on Lincoln Street, north of Gateway Park, and shuttles will be available to take people between Gateway Park and the main stage area at Overman.
Sturgis Falls Board of Directors President Jay Stoddard told KWWL: "We moved things from Island Park to Tourist Park because it kept flooding all the time. Now the same is happening in Tourist Park. This can be an expensive problem. It cuts down on your crowd… Even though they're a very loyal crowd to come hear the bands."

The move will also usher in the Gateway Market, a new commercial vendor area. Additionally, the park will feature chainsaw carving demonstrations throughout the weekend.
Sturgis Falls will be June 21 to 24 this year, with the theme "Mardi Gras at the Falls."
