What's Open, What's Closed on Fourth of July in Cedar Falls
You can shop and eat and play, but you can't bank, ride the bus, or mail a letter.

Many businesses and most public offices and services will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, in Cedar Falls.
Here's a list of what's open and what's closed

- No trash will be collected on Wednesday. Residents with Wednesday as their collection day should put their garbage out by 7 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3rd.
- All U.S. post offices are closed. No mail will be delivered or collected.
- Met Transit buses will not run in Cedar Falls or Waterloo
- Most banks will be closed. Wednesday is a U.S. bank holiday.
- Black Hawk County offices are closed; including county courts, the county Health Department and the county treasurer's office.
- Iowa State offices are closed; including all drivers license stations, the Iowa Workforce Development Center and IowaWORK centers.
- Federal offices are closed.

There are no fireworks displays planned for July 4 in Cedar Falls or Waterloo; however, a weekend festival is planned with fireworks shows both Friday and Saturday. .
