Windchill Could Hit Minus 30 Degrees Thursday in Cedar Falls
A windchill advisory has been issued for Black Hawk County by the National Weather Service.

Starting in the early hours of tomorrow morning, the National Weather Service out of Des Moines has issued a wind chill advisory for Black Hawk County and many other counties. The advisory will be in effect from 3 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday.
Bitter cold temperatures are expected, with northwest winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour starting to pick up after 9 p.m. tonight. Temperatures are expected to drop quickly tonight and be below zero by sunrise Thursday. The Weather Service said wind chills could reach minus 20 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

The bitter cold air will make it dangerous to be outside. This will be the coldest morning of the winter so far ...so it is especially important to take appropriate precautions... If you must venture outdoors make sure you wear a hat and gloves.
The Weather Service warns that exposure to these temperatures could lead to frost bite or hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
