New Wife Paladino Seeks Annulment from Jailed Peregrine Financial's Wasendorf

Nancy Paladino, the woman . just days before he allegedly admitted to committing 20 years of fraud, has asked for an annulment.

Wasendorf, the , also known as PFG and PFGBEST,  in Cedar Rapids.

He and Paladino married on June 30 in Las Vegas, less than two weeks before he  outside the PFG headquarters in Cedar Falls.

His suicide note, sent to both Paladino and his son Russel Wasendorf Jr., allegedly helped lead investigators to discover that over $200 million of customer money was missing from PFG's bank account.

Wasendorf Sr. and Paladino had been publicly planning an August ceremony at in Cedar Falls before their elopement.

Paladino, of Lake Zurich, Ill., filed the annulment request in Clark County Family Court.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reported on the request:

“At the time of the marriage, Defendant knew he was about to he caught and arrested for fraudulent activity, and had planned suicide to avoid the consequences. He did not advise Plaintiff of the fraud or the suicide, and married Plaintiff under false pretenses,” she wrote in the annulment complaint.

According to the complaint, Paladino never took her husband’s name, and the two have no community property or debts to be divided by the court. Neither party should be awarded spousal support, according to her claim.
