• Clinton man sentenced in 2023 casino fentanyl deaths (wqad.com) — A Clinton man has been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison after admitting he supplied fentanyl-laced pills linked to two 2023 deaths connected to the Wild Rose Casino. Court records show he must also pay $150,000 each to the estates of the two victims, underscoring the severe legal and financial consequences of fentanyl-related crimes in Clinton.
   

• Medal of Honor Monday: Salvatore Giunta's Korengal Valley Stand (sofrep.com subscription) — Clinton residents may be interested to know that Medal of Honor recipient Salvatore “Sal” Giunta was born in Clinton before growing up near Cedar Rapids and serving in the Army. The story recounts his 2007 combat actions in Afghanistan’s Korengal Valley, where he repeatedly risked his life to protect fellow soldiers, leading to his 2010 Medal of Honor award.
