• Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office needs your help in locating a hit-and-run pickup truck (kjan.com) — Council Bluffs–area drivers are being asked to help deputies track down a Ford Super Duty pickup suspected in a hit-and-run injury crash on I-29 northbound earlier this month. The truck likely has major damage to the driver’s front side and a broken headlight. Anyone who saw the vehicle near the I-29/I-680 area is urged to contact the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office.

• 'Just scooping everybody out': Planned relocation of Council Bluffs encampments leaves residents scrambling (3newsnow.com) — Council Bluffs is actively clearing homeless encampments along the riverfront to make way for long-planned development, forcing campers to quickly gather their belongings and find new places to stay. City outreach workers and police say they’ve been warning residents for months and helping some move into housing, but several couples still don’t know where they’ll go next as equipment moves in this week.
   

• Marilyn Louise Ketcham Newman Obituary (westerniowatoday.com) — A graveside service for Marilyn Louise Ketcham Newman will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery’s Woodlawn Section in Council Bluffs. Additional visitation and memorial services are planned in Adair and Urbandale early next year, and memorials may be directed to Lutheran ministries important to her life and faith.
