Brian Ferentz Assures Recruits Kirk Ferentz Not Leaving; Hawkeyes Lose a Different Coach
Iowa is losing a coach after all, but it is not the head coach. Popular receiver coach Erik Campbell is heading off to a new destination.

It looks like for Hawkeyes Assistant Coach Brian Ferentz, clearing up rumors about his father leaving to the NFL when they reach the ears of recruits will be an important additional duty.
Yes, it appears due to the power of the interwebs, many of Iowa's recruits had heard about the possibility of Kirk Ferentz leaving to become head coach of Kansas City Chiefs. These rumors are false, according to son Brian, reports Hawkeyeinsider reporter Rob Howe, who spoke with several of the recruits.

...Iowa AssistantΒ Brian Ferentz, Welsh's lead recruiter and future position coach, eased the prospect's mind in a phone conversation on Wednesday night.
"He cleared everything up," Welsh said. "He told me that Coach (Kirk) Ferentz isn't going anywhere."

However, rumors of another departing Hawkeye coach turned out to be true. A wide receiver recruit confirmedΒ that Coach Erik "Soup" Campbell,Β a former wide receiver coach at Michigan, will be leaving the Iowa program. Campbell was also thanking fans wishing him well on his future on his Twitter page.
In addition to quashing Head Coach Ferentz rumors, it appears that Brian may also take over as wide receivers coach.
It is unclear at this point where Campbell will go, but he has interviewed for coaching positions at other schools in previous years. This site quotes ESPN as having Campbell on the verge of joining the staff at Eastern Michigan.
