City High Little Hawk Editors Talk Pacemaker Award Nomination, Multimedia: With Links to Favorite Stories

The City High Little Hawk has been named one of 50 finalists for the National Scholastic Press Association's (NSPA) Online Pacemaker, one of the highest awards for student journalism.

Iowa City High School’s Little Hawk newspaper was recently named as one of 50 finalists for the National Scholastic Press Association’s (NSPA) Online Pacemaker contest, selected from a record high 252 entries.

National Pacemaker Awards are considered to be the highest honors in student journalism. Online competitions are judged based on website design, navigation, writing, editing, graphics and interactivity.

This is nothing too new, as the Little Hawk website (www.thelittlehawk.com) earned Pacemaker finalist in 2011 and 2012. But I stopped in today to talk to web editors Nat Alder (right) and Max Friedman (left), both seniors at City High, about their most recent nomination as a finalist despite having to redesign the website midyear.
