Iowa City Police Department Welcomes Four New Officers
On Thursday, January 10, 2013, the Iowa City Police Department welcomed four new officers during a swearing in ceremony at City Hall.

On Thursday, January 10, 2013, the Iowa City Police Department welcomed four new officers during a swearing in ceremony at City Hall.
Officer Michael Harkrider, 28, is from Waterloo, Iowa. He attends Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo where he will earn an AAS degree in Criminal Justice this spring. He is assigned badge number 67.
Officer Jessica Bonnema, 21, is from Springville, Iowa. She attended Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City, Iowa, where she received an AAS degree in Police Science. She is assigned badge number 55.
Officer Robert Rooff, 23, is from Waterloo, Iowa. He attended Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, as well as Minneapolis Community & Technical College in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Hennepin Technical College, also in Minnesota.
Officer Kurt Fuchs, 23, is from West Chicago, Illinois. He attended Aurora University in Aurora, Illinois, where he received a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. He is assigned badge number 11.
Two of the officers were hired to fill positions created through a Department of Justice COPS grant, which specifies the hiring of military veterans,and two were hired to fill vacancies created by recent resignations.
