Iowa City Police: Man Reports Being Attacked By Stranger with Knife on Sandusky Drive
The incident reportedly occurred Friday morning.

Iowa City Police are looking for a suspect who apparently attempted to attack a resident of Sandusky Drive for a reason that is not currently apparent.
According to a police media release, at 6:17 a.m. officers were called to an address at 736 Sandusky Dr. for the report of an armed man. Upon arriving at the scene, officers spoke with a male resident who said he was going out of his garage to smoke a cigarette when he saw someone banging on the door of the residence.
When he walked out of the garage to see who it was, another man who was there tried to slash and stab at him with a knife. The resident was able to dodge these attacks and punch the knife wielder in the face. The man then fled in an unknown direction.

The resident told police he had never seen the man before and the man did not say anything during the attack. The resident received a scrape on his lower torso from the knife attack.
Multiple police officers responded to the area, but did not locate the suspect.Â
The suspect was described to police as being a black male, approximately 30 years of age. The witness said he was bald with a medium build and no facial hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.
Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of this suspect. Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS (8477). All calls are confidential and the identity of the caller doesn't have to be revealed to collect a reward.
