Iowa City Police Use Taser to Subdue Man While Serving His Warrant
The man was accused of interfering with police acts and assaulting a peace officer.

An Iowa City man is facing additional charges after allegedly resisting arrest when police came to serve his warrant.
According to Iowa City Police, officers went to serve an arrest warrant on Robert Mcclendon, 39, at 924 Hudson Ave. on Thursday at 9:55 p.m. Â
When Mcclendon answered the door, he allegedly told the officers that his name was "Craig." After a further conversation it was determined by officers that Mcclendon was not Craig and Mcclendon attempted to close the door on the officers.

The officers attempted to force their way into the residence but Mcclendon allegedly closed the door on officers, catching an officer in the door, causing lacerations on his body. When Mcclendon attempted to then flee, according to the complaint, officers used a Taser to subdue him.
In addition to his original charges, Mcclendon now faces charges of assault on a peace officer and interference with official acts causing bodily injury, both aggravated misdemeanors.Â
