Iowa City Road Work: Brick Pavement on Dewey Street to Necessitate Repair

Weather permitting, which it may not judging by the weather forecast, Dewey Street could be closed between N. Summit Street and Brown Street.

The bricks on Dewey Street appear to need a little work.

That's why the City of Iowa City will be closing the street for most of this month to reconstruct the brick pavement.

From the City of Iowa City:

Weather permitting, beginning on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, Dewey Street will be closed to traffic between N. Summit Street and Brown Street. This road closure is necessary to facilitate the reconstruction of the brick pavement in Dewey Street. It is anticipated that normal traffic will resume by the end of May.

Motorists are to allow extra travel time or seek an alternate route during these time periods as necessary. As always, caution should be exercised when traveling in construction areas.
