Iowa City Road Work: Bridge Construction to Close Down Parts of Rochester Avenue Starting April 1

Beginning on Monday, April 1, weather permitting, Rochester Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Parsons Avenue to 7th Avenue. This road closure is due to demolition and reconstruction of the bridge over Ralston Creek as well as repair work to the water main in the area. It is anticipated that this section of the street will be closed throughout the summer, with normal traffic expected to resume by August 26.

Detour routes for motorists and pedestrians will be marked, and drivers are advised to exercise caution when traveling in this construction area.
