A STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE MIDWEST TONIGHT BRINGING A LARGE AMOUNT OF WARM MOIST AIR INTO THE AREA. THE WARM AIR COMBINED WITH RAIN WILL HELP MELT SNOW NORTH OF HIGHWAY 30 AND ADD EVEN MORE MOISTURE TO THE AIR. THE PASSAGE OF THE LOW CENTER AFTER MIDNIGHT WILL DECREASE WINDS AND ALLOW WIDESPREAD DENSE FOG TO DEVELOP. THE POSSIBILITY DOES EXIST THAT THE DENSE FOG ADVISORY MAY NEED TO BE EXPANDED TONIGHT.
The forecast calls for rain tonight before 3:00 a.m., which will then recede into drizzle and fog. The temperature may briefly drop below freezing tonightso watch out for slick spots as well. The temperature will continue to grow from that point, however, until reaching a high of 55 degrees tomorrow with partly cloudy skies.
