Roederer also noted the continuing Midwest drought, the new requirements of the federal health care law and ongoing political turmoil in the Middle East as issues that could reduce revenues or raise costs for the state.
“We need to be cautious because there are so many unknowns out there that could affect us, that are not within our control or within our borders,” Roederer said. “They’re national and they’re international.”
He added, though, “But, on a happy note, Iowa is well-positioned. We are well-positioned in many, many areas for the economy of the future.”
