January Thaw: Iowa City Weather Looks to Warm this Week

Expect some chance for precipitation, but temperatures should stay about freezing this week.

If you have a chance this week, get outside and enjoy the nice warm(ing) weather.

According to a forecast from the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, high temperatures in Iowa City look as if they will hover in the forty-degree range for most of the week, even soaring to 45-degrees on Friday. Weather website Weather Underground predicts it could get even warmer than that.

It's not all sunshine and lollipops this week, however, as Thursday could bring with it a good chance for rain, with a chance of rain snow mix on Friday and Saturday depending on the temperature and precipitation. And the short respite won't last forever, as highs are predicted to drop below freezing again by next Sunday.
