Johnson County Sheriff: Woman Ran Over Man's Dog, Hit Him with Car, Following Domestic Dispute
The dog was caught under the vehicle as the woman first reversed, then sped toward the man who she had been arguing with, according to officials. Luckily, both dog and man escaped serious injury.

A rural Iowa City woman is facing a serious misdemeanor charge after she allegedly ran over a man's dog and hit him with a car following an argument with the man with whom she had been in an intimate relationship.
According to a Johnson County Sheriff's Office complaint, on Jan. 4 at 10:30 p.m., Renee Lynn Glaspie, 43, of Fox Lane Rd. NE, Iowa City was in an argument with the unnamed man when she punched him twice in the face with a closed fist. Glaspie and the man then briefly parted, before resuming the fight as Glaspie was in her vehicle in the residence's driveway.
This led to Glaspie flooring the car into reverse, according to the complaint, running over the man's dog. The man told deputies that he had then moved to the front of her vehicle to get her to stop as the dog was caught underneath. Glaspie then allegedly sped in the opposite direction, hitting the man with her vehicle, tossing him to the ground before she drove away.

The man had a large gash on his left elbow that required stitches, a bump on his head, was limping, and had hip pain. Glaspie and the man live together and are in an intimate relationship, according to the complaint.
One good piece of news is that the dog appears to have survived the dispute, although it may need a trip to the vet, according to Johnson County Sheriff's Department Lieutenant Gary Kramer.

"As far as we know, the dog is going to be fine," Kramer said.
Glaspie was booked into the Johnson County Jail on January 6, according to online jail records and remains there on $15,000 cash-only bond. She currently faces a charge of domestic abuse assault without intent causing injury, a serious misdemeanor.
