It's some great weather for this year's Mission Creek Festival, and there's some great talent coming in to Iowa City to enjoy. Here's a collection of writeups about the festival, plus info to help you enjoy the events.

It's here. The 8th annual Mission Creek Festival hits Iowa City today and continues through Sunday, April 7th.  Here’s what you need to know to make the most out of this one-of-a-kind week of music, literature, & food:

Passes & Tickets

All-Access Passes are still available - but very close to selling out!

A pass gets you into all Mission Creek concerts, including the sold-out Ducktails and Grizzly Bear shows. Several other shows are nearly sold out. New to this year’s festival is the addition of passholder discounts at 15 local retailers, including Oasis Falafel, Prairie Lights Books, Motley Cow, and more - just show your pass at check-out during the week of the festival and receive an exclusive discount.

Food & Literature 

Mission Creek’s literary lineup includes readings by poet Cornelius Eady, acclaimed contemporary author Roxane Gay, and Bosnian-American writer Aleksandar Hemon.  In addition, the literary lineup includes the free Iowa City Lit Crawl, which features more than 60 authors representing the likes of n+1, Vice Magazine, and Coffee House Press, and The Drums Inside Your Chest Series, a critically acclaimed poetry concert series featuring Amber Tamblyn, Patricia Smith, and musician Emily Wells. Feeling hungry?  This year’s festival boasts four incredible food programs that showcase some of the cutting-edge, locally-owned restaurants in Iowa City.  From an Iowa pork dinner with wine pairings at the Motley Cow to a vegan brunch at the Trumpet Blossom Cafe, foodies will delight in the festival’s culinary programming.  For more information, visit the food section of our website.
