Iowa will not be making the NCAA Tournament for the seventh time in the row. Their #3 seed also comes as something of a disappointment.

So no Hawkeyes in the NCAA Tournament, for the seventh straight year.
The Iowa Hawkeyes Men's Basketball team still could make their way to a championship of sorts, playing in New York's Madison Square Garden in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) Championship.
But to win this prize they will have to do something that plagued them during the past season: win against a good team on the road.

The Iowa Hawkeyes not only missed the tournament, they received a #3 seed in the NIT, likely meaning that several teams were closer to getting into the tournament than they were.
Iowa will host #6 seed Indiana State (18-14) on Wednesday night. The winner of that game will play the winner of #7 Stony Brook versus #2 seed Massachusetts. If Massachusetts wins, it will mean Iowa will have to travel to UMass to play the game.
