Police: Coralville Woman Poisons Brother's Fish with Oven Cleaner

The woman was charged with felony criminal mischief following for offenses police say occurred after retrieving her belongings.

A Coralville woman will face a felony charge in Johnson County Court after allegedly causing more than $1,000 worth of damage to her brother's apartment.

According to a Coralville police report, Tera Grace Harris, 24, of Coralville, was retrieving her belongings from her adult brother's apartment when she caused property damage and killed his fish.

Harris is accused of pouring oven cleaner in her brother's fish tank killing the fish, pouring bleach on the bedroom carpet, and punching a hole in the bedroom wall.

For this, Harris faces charges of second-degree criminal mischief, a Class D Felony that is charged when the perpetrator causes more than $1,000 and less than $10,000 worth of property damage.
