Police: Iowa City Transient Charged with Incest, Sexual Abuse, After Family Member Awoke to Unwanted Advance
The man is facing a pair of felony charges after the alleged incident.

Iowa City police have charged a transient with two felonies related to an alleged unwanted sexual advance he made toward his female family member.
According to an Iowa City Police criminal complaint, at the 700 block of Kirkwood Avenue at 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 11, David Leroy Hamm, 41, no address known, was lying next to the woman in her bed watching television when the woman fell asleep. When the woman woke up, she allegedly felt Hamm's hand underneath her underwear, his finger in her vagina.
The woman immediately reacted, according to the complaint, jumping up and yelling at Hamm and fleeing the room in a "hysterical" state. The woman eventually told her mother and her brother what had happened and they confirmed to police her account of her emotional state after the incident. The woman immediately went to the hospital for an exam and reported the incident to police.
