Renovation Work Continues at the Iowa City Public Library
Library administrators hope the work can be done by November.

Media Release
Library materials and furniture are on the move this week as work continues on the Iowa City Public Library's "Better Building, Better Service" project.Â
Furniture in the first-floor self-check area will move and the self-check stations will be temporarily relocated. Signs on the first floor will help you find where you need to go to check-out, visit the first-floor HELP Desk or ask any Library employee for help as we transition to our new layout.
The new grand magazine reading room will start to take shape as magazine shelving is installed in the newly carpeted first-floor atrium. Magazines should be moved to this new area in the next week or so. Movies, television, mysteries, fiction and science fiction materials will also move this week.Â
New shelving for movies will be installed in the former young adult reading room in the back right corner on the first floor.Â
