The Daily Iowan reported that the sign, located on the corner of Market and Lucas streets, was seen Friday morning with the words “I [heart symbol] N*****s”, “Obama”, “99% F**k”, “1% F**k” and “Rich forever” scribbled on the sign. The large R for Romney was also removed.

The paper reported that the student, Michael Richardson, 19, found the sign on his way to school this morning (article includes photo of sign.)

“I was really surprised, we just found it this morning when we went to class,” he said.

Vandalism incidents against both candidates are apparently not uncommon, as a quick search reveals vandalism of a yard sign in North Carolina; a road sign inRomney, Texas; a poorly spelled slur on Obama's Des Moines headquarters; an Obama yard sign in Texas; and many, many more, with many of the instances coming within the last week.
