Johnston Hires New Library Director
Current Library Director Willona Graham Goers, is retiring October 4.

The Board of Trustees of the Johnston Public Library is pleased to announce that Eric Melton has accepted the Board’s offer to become the new Library Director. He will begin as Director on September 30, following the approval of the hiring resolution that will be presented to the Johnston City Council at on September 16.
Eric is currently the Assistant Library Director at Kirkendall Public Library in Ankeny. He holds a Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Iowa and has eight years of professional public library experience in a variety of areas at Kirkendall. He was particularly involved in a conversion of library software from one product to another, which is the same process that the Johnston Public Library is currently undertaking.

Current Library Director Willona Graham Goers, is retiring October 4. She has been a tremendous asset to the library for nine years, eight of them as director.
