Officials say the injured are in critical but stable condition, and families are being notified as the investigation into the attack continues.

• OBIT: Delores A. Arduser (northiowatoday.com) — Johnston readers may recognize Delores Arduser through her son Bryan Skarphol, who lives here with his family. Delores, an 82-year-old Mason City resident remembered for her creativity, volunteerism, and deep love for her grandchildren, died December 9 and will be honored by family in the spring as she donates to advance hearing and balance research.
