Knitters, Are You Ready to Rock?: Today in Marion
Everything from toastmaking to knitting to splash pad shenanigans and ruminations on profound interpretations could be yours today in Marion.

Good morning, Marion.
We're going to get a little bit of a break from yesterday's extreme heat today, as the forecast for Marion weather has temperatures reaching the mid-eighties for highs.
But if you still want to cool down don't forget to take advantage of the Thomas Park Splash Pad, open to the public from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
After heading there, you can also stop over to the Marion Farmers Market, in City Square Park, which runs on Wednesdays from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
The Marion Public Library has events for both the young and the older sets today, with a rock and roll themed Preschool Story Time party from 10:45 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. and the Library Knit Wits knitting club, which meets from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m.
If you are an early riser (and are reading this fairly early in the morning) you can head out to a Sunrise Marion Toastmasters meeting at the Longbranch Hotel from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m.
Finally, if you need a little more art in your life, you can head to Lowe Park Arts and Entertainment Center, where an art exhibit called "Profound Interpretations" by a pair of Linn County artists is on display. The exhibit will remain through the end of the week.
