• Linn-Mar Superintendent Amy Kortemeyer to retire (thegazette.com) — Linn-Mar Superintendent Amy Kortemeyer, who has led the Marion-based district for three years, will retire at the end of the 2025-26 school year. She highlighted recent facility upgrades and academic initiatives, while the school board now begins planning for new leadership and a fresh 10-year facilities strategy affecting students and families across Marion. 
• Linn County Public Health adds gun locks to harm reduction vending machines (mvlsun.com) — Free gun locks are now available from a harm reduction vending machine at Marion Public Library, giving local residents another way to safely store firearms. Linn County Public Health and Cedar Rapids Police expanded the countywide vending program, which already offered Naloxone and other supplies, to address both opioid overdoses and gun violence.
