Marion Council To Consider New Council Ward Boundaries
A public hearing will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 during the regularly scheduled City Council meeting.

Every 10 years following the completion of the United States Census, the individual states are required to approve new legislative district maps for both federal and state offices. Within sixty (60) days of the governor's signature approving the new legislative districts local governments shall complete any required amendments to their city council ward boundaries.

The City is required to review its ward and precinct boundaries to determine if the existing boundaries comply with current laws. The City of Marion currently has four (4) wards and fourteen (14) precincts. As a result of Marion's continued growth over the past decade it was necessary to redraw the ward boundaries to reflect the growth and allow for balanced future growth. The City is proposing to maintain four (4) wards and create a total of eighteen (18) precincts. View the proposed boundaries.
