Marion Parks and Recreation Announces New Business Hours
The hours of operation for the Marion Parks and Recreation Department are changing. This applies to both the Thomas Park and Lowe Park offices.

The hours of operation for the Marion Parks and Recreation Department are changing. This applies to both the Thomas Park and Lowe Park offices.
“With retirements, promotions and new staff coming on board, the make-up of our department has changed a lot in the past year,” said Mike Carolan, Parks and Recreation Director. “In talking with residents, program participants, and staff, we feel these changes will better serve the Marion community. “
As of August 1, the business hours at Thomas Park are 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Effective September 1, the business hours at Lowe Park will be 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.

The park operations and administrative functions for the department will be located at Thomas Park. Recreation programming will be based at Lowe Park. Staff will be cross-trained to best serve the public from either location.

Questions pertaining to recreation programs, the Marion Municipal Swimming Pool, Lowe Park or the Arts & Environment Center, community gardens, the Marion Arts Council, and the Klopfenstein Amphitheater for the Performing Arts can all be directed to Lowe Park at 319-377-4846.
All other inquiries or requests should be directed to the administrative offices at Thomas Park at 319-447-3580.
In addition, secure drop boxes will be installed in the weeks ahead at Thomas and Lowe Parks for anyone wanting to drop off registration forms outside of regular business hours.
