Marion Quilt Walk Coming this Weekend: Marion Weekend Planner

The nice weather will continue this weekend in Marion, except with slightly warmer temperatures. The perfect weather for a quilt walk, in fact. And that's not all that's happening this weekend in Marion.

1. Marion Quilt Walk

Uptown Marion, in partnership with thirty-three Uptown Marion businesses, will host the first annual Marion Quilt Walk this Saturday, August 17 from 9am-4pm. The Marion Quilt Walk is a day featuring more than sixty handcrafted quilts on display in businesses located throughout the Uptown Marion District. The event is free and open to the public.

2. Matt & Rachael at Ramsey's

3. Book Reading & Signing at the McGowan House Artisans

Located on the grounds of the McGowan House Artisans. Jannan Krauel is author of two children's books titled "Flying Lessons" and The "Land of Misfit Bugs." Book reading at 10am with book signings immediately to follow.

5. Brucemore's Cabaret in the Courtyard

This sophisticated and saucy nightclub event will showcase nationally-recognized talent from Eastern IA. Since 2003, the ambiance of the courtyard has been transformed into a cabaret club with tables, chairs, twinkling lights and stars on the stage and in the sky.
