Update: Flooding Closes Grandstand and Ground Events at Linn County Fair 2013
The Linn County Fair begins today.

Update:
Flooding has closed all grandstand and ground events at the Linn County Fair, which opens today. 4-H shows are still on schedule.
Here's more from fair organizers:
Due to the projected flood waters from the Wapsipinicon River flooding the Linn County Fairgrounds, all grandstand and grounds events after today have been cancelled for the fair.  The Fairboard BBQ, Queen Coordination and Opening Programming is still set up for tonight. Tonight events have been moved from the grandstand to the Farm Bureau Free Entertainment Tent.Â
The Linn County Fair Association is still trying to find an alternative location for the 4-H Livestock Shows. We will provide updates as they come in.Â
We are asking that after today that people refrain from coming onto the fair grounds due to the projected height of the flood waters for safety reasons.
All vendors, campers, carnival and other grounds entertainment have been informed and moved from lower grounds. All the buildings that will be affected by the project flood waters have been cleared of essential items.Â
Any grandstand tickets that were purchased can be exchanged at the 2014 fair for any grandstand event of equal or lesser value.Â
The 4-H Static Judging is still occurring today in the Morton Building as planned. Information will be provided later today on when the static exhibits will be released.
Again, the Fair Board Cookout, Opening Program and Queen Coronation is still on for tonight. The events have been moved from the grandstand to the Farm Bureau Free Entertainment. Barnyard Wars have been cancelled for this evening
